Overview
The Naparima College Old Boys (NOCBA) prior to 1945 existed as a very loose organization with sporadic bursts of activity and no sustained effort. Up to that period the association existed in name only and was viewed as an Old Boys’ Association for a few professionals who had graduated from the College.

It was not until 1956 did the Association settled down and grew under the Presidency of Carl Mohan who has succeeded other Presidents such as Dr. Winston Mahabir, the Hon. Roy Joseph, Dr. Martin Sampath and Dr. Ibbit Mossaheb all active politicians at the time. During the period 1962-1988 the association once again fell into slow decline, the perception being that the Association belonged to a select few.

It was later revived by a group of younger Old Boys’ – Kem Ablack, Robin Moonan, David John Williams and most recently by the charismatic David Sammy.

Today, NCOBA has become and indeed plays an indispensable part in the development of Naparima College. I am therefore extremely proud to have been elected to serve as its President for the 2004/2005 term.

Under the astute leadership of immediate Past Presidents and due the hard work of committed and dedicated Executive Members, the Association now boasts of a full time secretary, a fully computerized office, an official email address and web site and perhaps most importantly a Data Base of well over 4000 Lifetime Members.

As past students, parents and supporters, we all now eagerly look forward to having “Breakfast on the Hill” or brunch with the “Naps Men Who Can Cook” or even to a good jump up at our annual Carnival Fete or a quiet romantic evening at our annual Dinner & Dance. As President of NCOBA, I have been greatly encouraged and heartened by the tremendous support which these events enjoyed over the past year. I sincerely thank all our past students, parents and friends and I look forward to your continued support.

Due to the overwhelming success of our projects we have been able to assist the College in various ways over the past months. Ten needy students received bursaries to assist with books and travel over the school year. A Naparima College Trust Fund has been established for this purpose and through the interest generated from this Fund we hope to assist ten needy students on an annual basis.

Ten other students from the Spanish Department received assistance Re: Tour to Margarita. Other area of assistance to the College included:
  1. The Sponsorship of Medals and trophies for the School’s annual Sports Day.
  2. The Partial paving of the parade ground.
  3. The organization of a highly successful Career Guidance Seminar for the students of forms five and six.
  4. Perhaps, of most significance was the installation of a Wireless DSL System on the Hill. Through this system students and teachers can now access the net from any classroom or area on the hill without the normal tedious requirements. This system is now fully operational and will be officially launched in the near future.
